Mr. Peabody: The Talking Mutt (Part One)

Chapter One: Introductions

I was born on the second step of a staircase. Although that might seem like an odd place to be born, I didn't think it was odd at all. It helped me climb. But it did not help me talk. My name, however, did.

But I wouldn't have had my name if it hadn't been for my owner, Bill. But that is enough of this chapter. I will end it now, and begin the story of my life.

Chapter Two: The First Day

The world was quiet, and I couldn't see a thing. But I could still feel. I could feel the softness of whatever I was sitting on. I decided to climb it. And so I did climb it. I was sure I was almost at the top when I felt someone taking me off the thing I had intended to climb.

I don't know why whoever-it-was did this, and they showed no sign of telling me. But I decided to let it go and fall asleep.

Turtles

Turtles can live to 125 years, which is very old. Turtles have four flippers to swim and crawl on the sand. Turtles are green; some are brown. Turtles have ears, but you can't see them. When they're scared they hide in their green hard shells. Turtles are very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, slow. Turtles have a pattern on their heads and flippers. Turtles live in coral reefs. Turtles get stuck in trash, so don't put trash in the oceans. Turtles eat jellyfish.

Ellie's Missing Eraser

The bed was covered with a brand new bedspread - colorful and bright, with doggie faces. Across the room, the other bed had been draped in a matching bedspread and pillowcase.  Now that Ellie's and Amy's beds were so beautiful and cute, the girls promised their Dad and Mom that they would make their beds every morning before eating breakfast.  "And Milkshake will remind us to make our beds," said Ellie, "because she is going to sleep beside me."  (Milkshake was Ellie's favorite stuffed animal, a snow leopard that came from the Noah's Ark gift shop.) That night, long after Amy had fallen asleep, Ellie whispered to Milkshake, "I made some mistakes when I drew a picture of my new bedspread - and the problem is, I couldn't find an eraser anywhere . . . . Could you look for an eraser for me? Just leave it under my pillow." And Ellie finally slid into Dreamland. The next day, as Ellie rolled over, wrapped up in her colorful blanket, she remem...

The History of Tracker

One day, Caddie Woodlawn adopted a puppy. She named him Wisdom.  One day, Wisdom went for a walk with Chase and Rosie. Some people found them and put them in the shelter. Then Chase and Rosie were adopted, but Wisdom was not. Wisdom stayed in the shelter for a long time. Then one day, Chase came to the shelter. Wisdom saw him and asked Chase what he was doing there.  Chase said that he needed help. Mayor Humdinger had captured Chase's owner.  Chase let Wisdom and the other dogs out of the shelter.  Then Wisdom called to the mice for help. The mice ran around, looking for clues. Then they found something!  It was Mayor Humdinger's hat.  Chase sniffed it.  It smelled like Ryder - that was the name of Chase's owner. Chase followed the scent, and he found Ryder. But it was a trap. A cage came down on top of Ryder and Chase. But Wisdom escaped. Then Mayor Humdinger chased Wisdom away. Now he didn't know where Ryder and Chase were. He had to rescue them. But...
